Meet Dr. Cohen

Ophthalmologist Ben Zane Cohen, MD, has been a dedicated New York City retina specialist since 1983. Dr. Cohen earned his medical degree from New York Medical College in Manhattan and completed his postgraduate internship at Long Island Jewish Medical Center in Queens. He went on to residency training in ophthalmology at The University of Chicago before returning to New York to complete a fellowship in macular disorders at Manhattan Eye, Ear, and Throat Hospital. Dr. Cohen pursued further training with a fellowship in surgery at Massachusetts Eye and Ear teaching hospital at Harvard Medical School and a fellowship in clinical research at the Eye Research Institute of the Retina Foundation.

In addition to seeing patients at his practice, Dr. Cohen has prior experience teaching residents at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary.

As an active member of the medical community, Dr. Cohen maintains membership in many professional organizations, including the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American College of Surgeons, and the New York State Ophthalmological Society.
